Cook County Board President Toni Preckwinkle on Monday announced that applications have opened for the Community Loan Recovery Fund – which offers one-time, zero-interest loans of up to $20,000 for small businesses and up to $10,000 for independent contractors based in suburban Cook County.
Gov. JB Pritzker joined the call for racial justice Saturday morning at the South Suburban Day of Action in Calumet City.
"I cannot support the release of this information and am wholly disappointed in the decision to dispute the opinions of our public health experts, including the advice provided by CCDPH's medical expert, Dr. Rachel Rubin," Preckwinkle wrote in her veto message.
First responders at suburban police departments like in Hazel Crest say the list is crucial for their safety. Meanwhile residents argue it is an invasion of their medical privacy.
The site, at 1969 West Ogden, offers both drive through and walk-up testing services.
The waiver would means property owners would have until Oct. 1 to pay without facing a 1.5% interest penalty. Bills are normally due by Aug. 3.
