In both cases, two males walked up to people on the sidewalk and punched or knocked them to the ground, police said.
The man entered the Fifth Third Bank branch at 601 S. Clark St. at 9:36 a.m. with a knife and demanded cash, according to police and the FBI. He left the bank with an undisclosed amount of money, police said.
The man — thought to be in his 50s or 60s — was found unresponsive by officers about 12:35 a.m. on the southbound tracks at the Harrison station, police said. Preliminary information indicates he had been trying to retrieve a large ball that fell on the tracks when he hit the electrically charged third rail.
