There are no guarantees that those who have been the best players in the league through the first half of the season will be there at the end of the season.
Heading into the Bears matchup against the Texans on Sunday night, one key matchup to watch is J.J. Watt versus Gabe Carimi.
The Bears may, in fact, have the services of cornerback Charles Tillman as the team takes on the Texans in a crucial prime-time match up Sunday night.
Tillman's fourth child is due to be born Monday, posing a possible conflict with Sunday night's huge game against the 7-1 Houston Texans.
Not many teams could withstand injuries to their three best offensive players and achieve what the Houston Texans did in 2011. Bears fans can relate to this better than anyone, watching last season bottom out after losing Jay Cutler and Matt Forte.
J.J. Watt and Gabe Carimi were two of the more competitive, hardest working players on the team. And they weren't exactly buddy-buddy.
A close call on the field for the Atlanta Falcons, a near unanimous choice to stay atop the AP Pro32 NFL power rankings.
Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio joined The McNeil and Spiegel Show today and said he wouldn't agree with Tillman's decision to sit out.
It's safe to say the Bears are dominating the NFC Defensive Player of the Week awards.
