Teen Shot In South Shore
CHICAGO (STMW) -- A teenage boy was shot in the South Shore neighborhood late Saturday night.
The 17-year-old boy was standing in the 7900 block of South Marquette Avenue with another person when the suspect approached them around 11:45 p.m., police News Affairs Officer Amina Greer said.
The three started fighting, and the suspect pulled out a gun, Greer said. The suspect shot the teen in his left hand and fled the scene on foot.
The victim's friend took him to South Shore Hospital, where his condition is not immediately known, Greer said.
No one was in custody early Sunday morning as Area South detectives investigate.
