Hot and humid day with thunderstorms possible Thursday in Chicago
CHICAGO (CBS) — After an afternoon in the mid-to-upper 80s, a cooler airmass is headed to the Chicago area.
A front will cross the areas Thursday evening, allowing for a few passing showers and rumbles of thunder.
Strong northerly winds will cool temperatures to the low 60s tonight and then the upper 60s and low 70s Friday. A few isolated light showers will be possible on Friday afternoon.
A secondary push of cool air will be with us on Saturday, with morning temperatures in the 40s and afternoon highs in the 60s.
Northwest winds will produce lake-effect showers on Saturday, mainly for areas near the lake in Northwest Indiana.
Gusty winds will be with us Friday through Saturday, so a Beach Hazard for dangerous swimming and boating conditions will be in effect late tonight through Saturday night.
Sunday will be less windy and milder, with highs in the mid-70s. Next week will bring lots of sunshine and warming highs each day.
