3 dead, 21 wounded in Chicago weekend shootings
At least three people were killed, and 21 others were wounded in weekend shootings across Chicago.
The ages of the victims range from 12 to 47, police said.
The first shooting of the weekend happened around 11:35 p.m. on Friday in the 2800 block of West Monroe Street. Police said a 21-year-old man was driving when he heard gunfire and realized he'd been shot.
The victim drove himself to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he was listed in good condition with multiple gunshot wounds.

Shootings from Saturday
- Around 1:20 p.m., a 33-year-old man was in the 2400 block of East 75th Street, when three men got out of a black SUV and started shooting. The victim was shot in the leg, and was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in good condition.
- Around 4:30 p.m., a 25-year-old man was on the sidewalk in the 5100 block of South Campbell Avenue, when someone shot him multiple times in the chest and head. The victim was taken to Holy Cross Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
- Around 6:45 p.m., a 27-year-old man was in the 7900 block of South Maryland Avenue when he was shot twice in the lower back and twice in the foot. The victim took himself to University of Chicago Medical Center, where he was listed in good condition. Police said he was not cooperating with the investigation.
- At 9:39 p.m., police believe someone came up to a group with a gun in the 4500 block of South Prairie Avenue and shot four young people. One 13-year-old boy was shot in the left foot, another in the right leg. An 11-year-old boy was shot in the left leg. All were in good condition. A 14-year-old boy suffered a graze wound to the back and reported in fair condition. All were taken to the University of Chicago's Comer Children's Hospital. A 13-year-old boy has since been charged in the shooting.
- At 11:23 p.m., officers were called to Community First Medical Center for a walk-in patient who had been shot. A 21-year-old man said he was traveling in a vehicle in the 2100 block of North Central Avenue when another man came up on foot and shot at the vehicle. The victim was shot in the back and was in fair condition.
Shootings from Sunday
- At 12:06 a.m., a shooting transpired in the 4600 block of South Federal Street. Officers found two young women and a man with gunshot wounds upon being called to the scene, but the victims were unable to provide details about what happened. An 18-year-old woman was shot in the abdomen and was reported in critical condition. A 19-year-old woman was shot in the right hand, and a man of an unspecified age in the left shoulder, and both were reported in good condition. The victims were taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center.
- At 1:34 a.m., officers were called for an unresponsive male in the 7700 block of South Rhodes Avenue. They found a young man was lying on the ground with a gunshot wound to the head, and he was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as Stephon Jacobs, 16.
- At 3 a.m., a 27-year-old man was outside in the 7900 block of South Langley Avenue when two people came up on foot and fired shots at him. The victim was shot somewhere in his body and was taken to Jackson Park Hospital in good condition.
- At 3:59 a.m., a 39-year-old woman was outside in the 600 block of West Belden Avenue in Lincoln Park when she heard shots and felt pain. She self-transported to Northwestern Memorial Hospital in critical condition.
- At 4:15 a.m., a 46-year-old woman and a 47-year-old man were in the 1100 block of South Mozart Street when three people came up and began firing shots at them. The man was shot in both legs and was reported in critical condition, while the woman was shot in her right legs and was reported in good condition. Both were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital.
- At 5:22 a.m., a 26-year-old man was outside in the 2200 block of South State Street when a dark-colored car approached and someone inside fired at the victim. The victim was shot in the left leg and was taken to Insight Hospital and Medical Center in good condition.
- Sometime before 5:53 a.m., a 32-year-old man was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital after suffering gunshot wounds to his body. The man was in critical condition. The victim was uncooperative with officers. It was not known where the shooting actually happened, and the circumstances of the shooting were under investigation.
- At 12:26 p.m., officers were called to Insight Hospital and Medical Center after a 19-year-old woman self-transported there with a gunshot wound to the leg. The young woman was in good condition. It was not known where the shooting occurred.
- At 9:16 p.m., a 38-year-old woman was outside in the 5400 block of West Quincy Street when another woman came up. They got into a quarrel that turned physical, and the second woman shot the first. The victim was taken to Loretto Hospital in good condition. The fled west on Quincy Street.
Shootings from Monday
At 12:45 a.m., a man of an unknown age was found in his vehicle in the 4500 block of West Kinzie Street with multiple gunshot wounds to his body. He was taken to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he died.
At 3:39 a.m., a man and woman, both 18, were standing outside in the 400 block of West 61st Street when they heard gunshots and felt pain. The woman was shot multiple times throughout her body and was left in critical condition, while the man was shot in the right foot and was reported in good condition. Both victims were taken the University of Chicago Medical Center.
