Chicago Rapper King Louie Shot In Ashburn

(STMW) -- Chicago rapper King Louie was shot in the head in the Ashburn neighborhood on the Southwest Side Wednesday afternoon, his management team confirmed.

The rapper — whose real name is Louis Johnson — was shot while in a vehicle in the 3900 block of West 83rd Street about 3:30 p.m., according to his management and Chicago Police.

Police said he was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where his condition had stabilized.

A representative from his management team said he was "awake and talking."
