Rebekah Bruesehoff, 14, is fighting for the rights of transgender kids.
The Texas State Senate has passed a bill that would ban gender-affirming medical care for trans youth. Mireya Villarreal speaks with Libby, a transgender 11-year-old, and her family about how this bill could impact her life if it's signed into law.
"The truth is the healing. And I hope this frees me," the 51-year-old actor said.
As the pandemic forced people to isolate at home, many LGBTQ youth "have been trapped" with families who are not supportive, and in some cases, abusive, advocates say.
Lovato said the label "best represents the fluidity I feel in my gender expression, and allows me to feel most authentic and true to the person I both know I am and still am discovering."
The Senate-passed bill died on the last night of the legislative session.
"This is the first step in a long and wonderful journey. Sapir, we are proud to do it with you," the Israel Football Association tweeted.
"There is such an attack on trans health care right now," Page said. "And if you are going to do this and if you are also not going to allow trans kids to play sports, children will die."
The Equality Act passed the House for a second time in February, but faces an uncertain future in the Senate.
