Nearly 50% said they support Juneteenth being taught in public schools while 35% said they didn't know or were unfamiliar with the Juneteenth themselves.
"Our institutions have not — and still are not — being treated the same," one president of a historically Black college said of the funding gap with other schools.

Built between 1912 and 1973, Rosenwald schools provided an opportunitiy for hundreds of thousands of poor African Americans to be educated in the segregated South. Their construction has been called one of the most effective philanthropic endeavors of the 20th century. But the story of the school and their benefactor remain largely unknown today.
