The active wear company was accused of using "forever chemicals" that can linger in the environment for hundreds or even thousands of years.
Quincy, Massachusetts firefighters are trying to get the city to pay for gear that doesn't include so-called "forever chemicals."
The mayor said the gear was specifically marketed as containing any forever chemicals. The gear has been sent out for independent testing.
Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey signed a bill into law Thursday banning the use of PFAS chemicals in fire gear by 2027.
The ban will take effect in 2027. WBZ-TV's Tiffany Chan reports.
The EPA will require that public water utilities test for six different types of PFAS chemicals to reduce exposure in drinking water.
