Young Woman Killed On Route 195 In Marion
MARION (CBS) – A young woman was killed on Route 195 in Marion Sunday evening.
State police say 18-year-old Kourtney Vieira of Wareham was in the right travel lane of 195 east around 6:45 p.m. when she was hit by a Honda Odyssey mini-van.
"Ms. Vieira had been an occupant in a vehicle near the crash scene, which had been reported to be out of gas. It is unclear at this time why she was in the travel lane," police said in a statement Monday morning.
She was rushed to Tobey Hospital in Wareham where she died
The mini-van driver, 71-year-old David Benevides of Onset, has not been charged at this point in the investigation.
