Woman Found Severely Beaten Inside Methuen Home

METHUEN (CBS) - Police say a Methuen mother was beaten so badly she had to be airlifted to a Boston hospital Tuesday.

A relative of 33-year-old Sarah Plazola tells WBZ-TV that someone broke into her home and beat her before taking off.

That relative says there was no weapon involved. He says the woman's live-in boyfriend came home and called 9-1-1 when he discovered her "in bad shape."

According to State Police, Plazola was in critical condition.

Late Tuesday night, Methuen Police Mobile Command Unit and State Police Crime Scene Services were parked alongside the home where detectives were gathered waiting for a search warrant.

Few other details were immediately available.
