Police: Man Who Solicited Naked Photos Of High School Boys On Snapchat ID'd

WESTON (CBS) -- Police said they had identified a recent Weston High School graduate as the person who created a fake Snapchat account that solicited naked photos from boys at the school this past summer.

Weston Police said that they, along with the school's guidance counselors, had contacted and notified all of the students and families affected in the case.

The name of that recent grad has not been revealed.

"We wish to thank the school community for their patience and understanding while we investigated this sensitive matter," Weston Police said in a statement Monday. "The Weston Police Department remains committed to helping our students and parents understand all of our roles in internet safety and keeping our children safe from ever-evolving technology."

Back in September, the department said sophomore boys at the high school were specifically targeted by the account, and that some may have responded with compromising photos.

The incident led to an address to the entire sophomore class by the school's principal, a letter sent home to parents, and administrators urging parents to discuss the permanence of the internet and lasting implications of social media with their children.

Police said no more information would be released, because of the nature of the incident and the ages of the students involved.
