Warren Bear Sighting Prompts Police Warning
WARREN (CBS) – Beware, Warren residents. There's a bear in town.
Warren police took to Facebook Wednesday to let people know about a bear sighting earlier in the morning.
"The bears are out of hibernation and are actively looking for food," police wrote. "I anticipate that we will see a spike in sightings as the weather gets warmer."
Authorities also shared some tips for bear safety this time of year, including keeping your distance if you do spot a bear, never get between a mother bear and her cub, and talk calmly to a bear while making yourself look as large as possible if one gets too close.
