Toucher & Rich: Andy Hart On Tom Brady's Foot Injury
When Andy Hart of Patriots Football Weekly joined Toucher and Rich this morning, it should come as no surprise Tom Brady's foot injury was a hot topic.
Listen to the interview:
Like nearly everyone else, Hart crushed the myth the stress fracture in Brady's right foot was one of the reasons the team lost the New York Jets 28-21 on Sunday.
"I think that had nothing to do with it," Hart told T&R.
"If you watch him, all those plays he had all that time he was bouncing around the pocket buying more time. It didn't look to me like a guy that was affected by pain in his foot."
Brady was not able to put up the MVP numbers against the Jets he put up all season, completing just over 64-percent of his passes. He also threw his first interception since October 17th against the Baltimore Ravens.
Blame the Jets harassing defense for that, not Brady's injured foot.
"Everything we hear is that it's not as painful now as it was earlier in the season. And he had a great season. He made all these plays in blowout wins with the same injury," Hart said. "He just had a bad day and more often or not when he has a bad day, the Patriots are going to lose."
Sources tell WBZ-TV's Steve Burton that Brady is scheduled to have surgery on the foot this afternoon as Massachusetts General Hospital. There is a chance Brady will need a screw inserted into his right foot, but if the bone heals correctly he should be ready for the start of training camp.
