After-School Teacher From Revere Charged With Child Porn Possession

BOSTON (CBS) – An after-school program teacher from Revere has been arrested on child porn charges.

Police have been investigating 20-year-old Ian Silver-Eck since December after he allegedly used Skype to share pornographic images.

During an interview with State Police on Thursday, Silver-Eck allegedly confessed and a search revealed 23 alleged images of child pornography on his computer.

Silver-Eck had been employed as a part-time teacher for more than a year by the company "Build it Yourself" which offers after-school programs in schools across the state.

In a statement, a spokesman for the company said Silver-Eck was "professional, polite, helpful and easy going in classes." His contract with the company was terminated Friday night.

Silver-Eck was held on $1,000 bail. If he is released, he must wear a GPS monitor, not have unsupervised contact with children under 18 and not use the Internet.
