Taxi Driver Feared For Life After Being Tased During Carjacking

BOSTON (CBS) – A Boston cab driver says he feared for his life after a violent encounter with a male and female passenger early Friday morning.

Dieunes Marcelin says he picked up the pair in Boston's financial district who wanted to go to Mattapan.

By the time he got on Interstate 93, Marcelin needed an address and pulled over.  That's when he said the meter read $17 and the woman became angry.

"She got crazy because she thought there was too much money on the meter," Marcelin told WBZ-TV.

Marcelin said he was blindsided by what happened next as he opened the partition to talk with the woman. He says she started punching him in the head.

"I was trying to push her hands away. Then the man pulled out a taser and started tasing me in my neck and arm. It was very scary for me. I was afraid for my life, I thought I was going to be killed," said  Marcelin, who was left on I-93 as the two commandeered his cab.

"I was very desperate to get out. It was going to get crazy for me."

The cab ended up crashing into a pole on Blue Hill Avenue in Mattapan as Massachusetts State Police say a trooper saw the pair driving erratically.

They managed to escape on foot and a search of the area turned up no sign of them.

Marcelin says he has no choice but to get back on the job at V & A Cab Inc. later in the day and hope for the best.

"I'm feeling fortunate because I have four kids and I need to be there for them," he said.
