State Senator Proposes Banning Sale Of Bottled Water In Massachusetts
CONCORD (CBS) - The sale of bottled water could be banned statewide as soon as next year.

State Sen. Cynthia Creem (D - Newton) says Massachusetts should ban bottled water if bottled water is not added to the state's bottle bill.
"My amendment says that unless we do something about including bottled water in the bottle bill, then after July of 2013, we would ban bottled water," said Creem.
The bottle bill is in place to encourage residents to recycle, but it only includes beer, malt beverages, carbonated soft drinks and mineral water.
Biodegradable bottles are excluded from the bill.
Senators will take up Creem's proposal as part of the state budget debate, which begins Wednesday at the Statehouse.
Earlier this year, residents in Concord approved a ban on the sale of water bottles in the town.
