Sources: Tom Brady To Have Foot Surgery
FOXBORO (CBS) -- Patriots quarterback Tom Brady will have surgery on his right foot Thursday, sources tell WBZ-TV's Steve Burton.
Brady has a stress fracture in that foot, and during the season there were times where he had to wear a boot to ease the pain.
The surgery will be performed at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Boston.com is reporting the operation will be performed by Patriots team doctor George Theodore and that Brady could push the surgery back to Monday.
There is also a possibility Brady may have to have a screw inserted, but if the bone heals correctly he should be ready for training camp.
There had been questions whether Brady broke his foot before or during last week's playoff game against the New York Jets.
Instead sources cited the stress injury saying Brady felt better in the week leading up to the game than almost any point during the season.
Following the team's 38-14 loss to the Cleveland Browns in November, the Patriots listed Brady on their practice participation report with a foot injury. He was limited during the week, but threw for 350 yards and three touchdowns against the Steelers the following Sunday.
