6 Students Sent To Hospital After School Bus Crash In Salem

SALEM (CBS) – Six children were taken to the hospital after a school bus was struck by a car in Salem Thursday afternoon.

The accident happened at Mason and North Street.

School officials tell WBZ 31 students from the Nathaniel Bowditch School were on the bus at the time.

The rest of the children were taken to another bus or released to parents on scene. All of the injuries were minor.

Fire officials say the bus was making a turn when a car travelling in the opposite direction crashed into the rear of the bus.

The driver of the car that struck the bus was also hospitalized and has been cited for speeding.
