Wilson gives New England a strong veteran presence at safety to play alongside Devin McCourty. A 12-year veteran, Wilson is a five-time Pro Bowler who racked up 27 interceptions, 25.5 sacks and 101 pass deflections in 181 career games with the Arizona Cardinals.
At 6-3, 230 pounds, the 33-year-old Wilson brings some size and add a physical presence to the Patriots secondary.
Wilson spoke with Patriots head coach Bill Belichick earlier this week according to reports, and the Patriots were the only team he visited with during the free agency period.
Wilson tweeted that he's excited to be a part of the team.
