Report: Blount Takes $1 Million Pay Cut With Patriots
BOSTON (CBS) - New Patriots running back LeGarrette Blount has already given his new team a boost.
According to Yahoo! Sports, Blount has agreed to take a $1.07 million pay cut.
Blount agreed to a one-year, $1.75 million deal with the Buccaneers in March, but restructured that deal to decrease that cap hit down to $680,000 for New England.
Blount was due to receive a $150,000 workout bonus and a $350,000 bonus for showing up to training camp, but the workout bonus has been reduced to $50,000, and the $350,000 is off the books all together. In addition to that, Blount's base salary has been reduced to $630,000 from $1.25 million -- none of which is guaranteed.

The Patriots acquired Blount in a draft weekend trade with Tampa Bay, sending kick returning Jeff Demps and a seventh round selection to the Buccaneers. He is expected to compete in a crowded Patriots backfield that includes running backs Stevan Ridley, Shane Vereen, Leon Washington and Brandon Bolden.
