Red Sox Blow 5-2 Lead In 9th, Fall To Blue Jays 6-5

Fred Lewis spoiled John Lackey's strong outing with a game-winning sacrifice fly off Daniel Bard as the Toronto Blue Jays came from behind to defeat the Boston Red Sox Thursday.
Jonathan Papelbon blew his chance to reach 30 saves for the fifth straight season after Lackey pitched eight innings and allowed three earned runs. Bard came in to relieve Papelbon with the game tied with one out in the ninth inning and intentionally walked Lyle Overbay to load the bases before allowing the sac fly to Lewis.
David Ortiz and Jed Lowrie both homered in the losing effort, and trade deadline acquisition Jarrod Saltalamacchia went 2-for-4 with a double and a run scored in his Red Sox debut.
