Pinnacle Awards honoree Lt. Gov. Kim Driscoll shares words of wisdom
BOSTON - Massachusetts Lieutenant Governor Kim Driscoll, who served four terms as Mayor of Salem, is one of nine women receiving a 2025 Pinnacle Award for excellence in leadership from the Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce.
"Leave people feeling good about what they're doing," Driscoll said. "And having a culture of continuously looking to improve."
That's partly how Driscoll defines success. She says it's also about leaving a place better than you found it and asking, how can we improve? "We're not resting. We're not settling on laurels. We're looking to get better," she explained.
Hers is the award for Achievement in Management-Government.
As the Chamber's media partner for the January 31st event, WBZ is featuring all nine honorees in its 6 p.m. newscast-one per weeknight for nine nights.
WBZ's Lisa Hughes, who's hosting the event, sat down for one-on-one interviews with each honoree to glean words of wisdom.
The goal was to capture the uplifting, inspirational tone of the awards ceremony that the honorees set with their speeches.
A calling to public service
The Lt. Governor says that she draws inspiration from the many people she meets throughout the Commonwealth and that the most gratifying aspect of her job is seeing ideas turn into reality.
"I get to see the power of shifting resources and shaping policy in a way that impacts people's lives directly. And that's really gratifying. It's why I feel a calling to public service," she explains smiling.
The 31st annual Pinnacle Awards are January 31, 11:00am-1:30pm at the Omni Seaport Hotel.
