Chihuahua Abandoned In Peabody Needs Surgery, Forever Home
PEABODY (CBS) – A little Chihuahua is in need of a loving home and medical attention after it was abandoned earlier this month.
A Good Samaritan found the dog, which rescuers have named Piglet, huddled beneath a blanket in the woods near Spring Pond in Peabody on March 13.
The MSCPA believes Piglet, who is between 5 and 7 years old, was abandoned because of the visible hernia in her belly.
Piglet has no collar or microchip, and no one has come forward to claim her.
She's set to get surgery for her hernia soon, covered by Spike's Fund.
Anyone looking to adopt Piglet should email adoption@mspca.org
"Given all she's been through we're going to prioritize a quiet and very safe home for her," MSPCA-Angell adoption center manager Alyssa Krieger said in a statement.
