Patriots Sign Offensive Tackle LaAdrian Waddle To Two-Year Deal

By Matt Dolloff, CBS Boston

BOSTON (CBS) -- The Patriots have already begun to shore up their offensive line. The team and tackle LaAdrian Waddle have agreed to a two-year deal, according to ESPN's Mike Reiss.

Waddle was set to become a restricted free agent. USA Today NFL writer Tom Pelissero tweeted that the tackle received a $250,000 signing bonus and the two-year deal is worth $2.425 million "before incentives."

Waddle, who joined the Patriots in December after being waived by the Detroit Lions, played just one game for the Patriots in 2015 but apparently made an impression on Bill Belichick and his coaching staff. He may not be the high-profile signing many may be seeking at that position, but Waddle will provide much-needed depth to a line that was ravaged by injuries in 2015, especially at the tackle position.
