Patriots Player Profiles: Quarterback Tom Brady

BOSTON (CBS) - New England Patriots Quarterback Tom Brady enters his 12th season in the NFL, ready to try and lead the Patriots to another Super Bowl.

2010 Stats: 16 games, 36 TD, 4 INT, 3,900 yds, 111.0 Passer Rating

Brady had another amazing year in 2010. When it was all said and done, he was the NFL MVP after leading New England to a 14-2 record. Brady threw 36 touchdowns, the second most in his career, and threw just four interceptions. He went 388 straight regular season passes without tossing a pick, an NFL record that will continue until he throws an interception in 2011.

Brady became the first player in NFL history to post a passer rating of 110.0 or higher twice in his career, finishing with a 111.0 rating. Brady had 11 games in which he threw at least two touchdowns without throwing a pick. He also hit another career milestone, picking up his 100th career victory in October against the Dolphins, becoming the fastest player to reach the mark.

2011 Outlook: Brady will once again have to carry the Patriots offense. They head into the season without a true No. 1 running back (BenJarvis Green-Ellis and Danny Woodhead will be the two main keys until the rookies come along), but Brady will have plenty of targets in Wes Welker, Deion Branch, Chad Ochocinco, Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez running routes.

There is some concern for Brady as he heads into his 12th NFL season. He will be 34 when the season begins, and is coming off surgery to repair a stress fracture in his right foot.  With the offensive line also getting older (and Nate Solder still unsigned), the Patriots better hope Brady's foot is able to do some scrambling.

As "super-human" he was in the regular season, Brady was average in a 28-21 playoff loss to the Jets. He threw a bad interception in the first quarter after the Patriots marched down the field into the red zone, and the team never really recovered. Although the Jets got just three points off the pick, Brady looked shaken en route to his third straight playoff defeat.

Overall, there is little doubt the Patriots quarterback will have another phenomenal year, but the doubt is still there. Brady is entering the back stage of his career, but if he continues to make the most with what he is given, he will have a chance to pick up his first playoff win since the 2007 AFC Championship game.
