Patriots Nate Solder Talks Short Week Of Preparation On Gresh & Zo

BOSTON (CBS) - Patriots offensive tackle Nate Solder joined Andy Gresh and Scott Zolak Tuesday afternoon on 98.5 The Sports Hub to discuss some of the issues facing the team on a short week of preparation.

Looking back at last week's victory just for a moment, Gresh wanted to know why the Bills always seem to make things difficult for the Patriots. Judging by his answer, it's clear Solder doesn't take any division game for granted.

"This one this week is gonna be a bear too. We've got a great opponent, big stage, just like last week."

Rookie center Bryan Stork missed the Buffalo game with a concussion, and Dan Connolly left the game with a head injury as well. The mixing and matching and shuffling of the offensive line has been happening all season long, and Solder believes that could actually be an advantage.

"When Connolly goes down we're ready because Jordan Devey's already played at left guard. Josh Kline has been in the starting lineup, so we kind of have had some depth created through that adversity," Solder said of the different guys playing with him.

Given the complexities of the modern NFL, some would argue seven days is not enough time to prepare for an opponent.

This week, the Patriots are tasked with less than half that time to prepare for the division rival Jets.

"It's been a little crazy to absorb as much information as you can as quickly as you can," Solder said, adding that the conditions are the same for both teams and it's not something you can point to as a disadvantage.
