Report: Ex-NH Rep. 'Was Like The Club Med Of Weed,' Sold Pot To Other Lawmakers
CONCORD, N.H. (CBS/AP) -- New Hampshire's attorney general says a former lawmaker charged with trying to lure a 14-year-old girl into a sexual encounter also smoked marijuana in the Statehouse and sold the drug to several legislators, but there's not enough evidence to charge them with drug crimes.
Kyle Tasker resigned in March after his arrest on three drug charges and a charge of trying to lure a minor for sex. He and his lawyer haven't commented on the charges.
In a report released Friday, the attorney general said three state representatives bought marijuana from Tasker and a fourth smoked it with him. All told investigators they believed he was trying to help people who needed the drug for medicinal purposes.
Rep. Amanda Bouldin, of Manchester, told investigators she smoked marijuana with Tasker in his car and showed her photos of marijuana brownies that he sold. Bouldin was also with him when he smoked pot in the Statehouse anteroom, the attorney general said.
One representative, Joseph Lachance, said he bought drugs from Tasker multiple times, according to officials. Lachance said he used marijuana to manage chronic pain.
"According to Lachance, Tasker was like the 'Club Med of weed': he had a variety of high-end strains of marijuana and charged accordingly," the report states.
The attorney general concluded that while Taster sold marijuana to some stage legislators, they did not "uncover pervasive illicit drug transactions at the State House or among elected state officials."
