New Exhibit Shows MIT Inventions
CAMBRIDGE (CBS) - MIT is celebrating a century and a half of invention with a new exhibit opening on Saturday.
Now at the MIT Museum, you can see some of the remarkable creations of the past 150 years.
Among the innovations are the first, pocket-sized calculator and wind tunnel models that helped explain why windows were falling from the Hancock Tower when it opened in the 1970's.
"MIT is a place that shapes and reshapes the world we live in. everybody's lives are influenced by ideas and discoveries and inventions coming out of this place, and this exhibition is just chock full of new futures that MIT researchers and students have invented," said John Durant, director of the MIT Museum.
