Motor Vehicle Crash In Carver Kills Woman
CARVER (CBS) -- A woman was killed Sunday afternoon in a motor vehicle crash, the police said.
At about 4:08 p.m., Carver Police and EMS were dispatched to 131 Main St. (Route 58) in response to a collision between a 1995 Chevrolet K3500 truck and a 1997 Ford Escort, Carver Police said in a prepared statement.
The Chevrolet was operated by Carl Jewells, 46, of 437 North Washington St., North Attleboro and had one passenger, Stepahanie Waite, 19, of Halifax. The driver of the Ford was Marjorie M. Carter, 88, of Ward Street Extension in Carver.
All three were taken to Jordan Hospital for treatment, but Carter died before she reached the Plymouth medical facility, the police said.
Massachusetts State Police are assisting in the investigation of the crash.
