Customers Feel 'Betrayed' After Photo Studio Abruptly Closes
MERRIMACK, NH (CBS) - Baby photos are precious to families, especially when they pay a lot of money to a professional studio to take them.
Dozens of local families now fear photographs of their children may be lost, and they may be out of thousands of dollars, after a NH photo studio suddenly closed without notice.
In a letter to clients, the owner of Pixel Perfect Photography in Merrimack, NH said that due to "circumstances beyond their control" they would have to shut down, and only orders that were already completed would be sent by US Mail.
The problem with that, according to clients we talked to, is that customers were asked to pay thousands of dollars up front, before services were rendered.
One client told us he paid $3,000 and only received some of the photos he ordered. He's worried that money is now gone.
The NH Attorney General's office told us they're starting to get some complaints.
Anita Lieberman says she did not receive all the photographs she ordered of her one year old daughter and feels she and other customers have been "betrayed."
The owner of Pixel Perfect bought the business in February. Customers told us before he bought it there were no problems with the previous owners.
WBZ tried to reach him by phone and email. He did not respond.
