Massachusetts Reports 1,821 New COVID-19 Cases, 24 Additional Deaths

BOSTON (CBS) — The Massachusetts Department of Public Health reported 1,821 new confirmed COVID cases and 24 additional deaths in the state on Wednesday.

Health officials said the total number of confirmed cases in the state is now 745,771. The total number of confirmed deaths is now 18,118.

There were 104,069 total new tests reported.

As of Wednesday, the seven-day weighted average of positive tests in Massachusetts is 2.14%.

There are 618 people currently hospitalized for a coronavirus-related illness.

There are also 170 patients currently in intensive care.
