School officials said they are taking the "preventative measures to prevent the potential spread" of measles if the student's case is confirmed.
Measles is a highly contagious illness that can be spread through the air by coughing or sneezing. Symptoms include a high fever, runny nose, watery red eyes and a cough, followed days later by a rash.
Those at the highest risk are anyone who have not had the measles or have never been vaccinated; and babies younger than 12 months old as they are too young to be vaccinated.
Anyone who notices any of these symptoms are encouraged to contact their doctor.
