Local gasoline prices drop another two cents


Local gasoline prices are down for the second week in a row.   The word from AAA of Southern New England is that self-serve regular is selling on average for $2.61 a gallon, down two cents from last week.

Prices have fallen seven cents over the last two weeks.

Spokeswoman Mary McGuire says now that vacation time is over, there's a larger supply of gas.  She also notes that the $2.61 a gallon we're paying for a gallon of gas now is exactly how much gas was a year ago this week.

AAA's Survey found a wide range of prices, from a low of $2.49 to a high of $2.89.
