Jones & Keefe Preview NFL Draft Combine

BOSTON (CBS) -- One of the biggest weekends of the year for those who follow the NFL Draft happens Friday as the 2016 NFL Scouting Combine kicks off in Indianapolis and runs through Monday. Adam Jones and Rich Keefe are avid followers of the draft and Combine, so they previewed the weekend's action on Tuesday night's show.

Keefe is most interested to see the 40 times from some of the speediest players in the draft.

"Who's going to be the burners this year? Who's going to try to break Chris Johnson's Combine record of a 4.24 40? That's a big number," said Keefe. He noted that others have rivaled or broken that mark, like Bo Jackson's "mythical" 4.18 he once ran at another event, but he is talking about the official Combine record.

Later in the show, Josh Norris from Rotoworld called in to talk about the Combine and gave his picks for the strongest and weakest position groups this year. He championed the depth of talent and diversity of skills at defensive tackle, which could be a need for the Patriots entering the next few seasons.

"I would say the interior of the defensive line ... is finally being recognized as a very important piece because obviously everyone always thinks of edge pressure in terms of pass rushing, but really, interior disruption can be king. It can dominate and change a way an offense has success."

He also noted center as a position of strength, and one the Patriots could be looking at with the uncertain future of Bryan Stork. As for the weakest positions, Norris picked arguably the two least important positions to the Patriots, quarterback and tight end.

Norris pegged former Alabama running back Derrick Henry as the top storyline of the Combine entering the weekend.

"There will be alien sightings in Indianapolis; people will be calling for them," Norris said, "because this guy is really a freak of nature and really a rare, unique prospect at that position.
