Gov. Patrick Names New Political Committee Director

BOSTON (CBS) - Gov. Deval Patrick's political committee is getting a new director.

The Governor's press secretary, Alex Goldstein, will be leaving the State House to become the Executive Director of Patrick's Committee (DPC) and his Together PAC (TPAC).

Goldstein has worked with Gov. Patrick for the past five years. He started as a field organizer during the Governor's 2006 campaign, and as his press secretary during the 2010 campaign.

Goldstein succeeds outgoing Executive Director David O'Brien. O'Brien is going Northwind Strategies with former Patrick aides Doug Rubin and Kyle Sullivan, who are now advising Elizabeth Warren.

Goldstein starts in his new position on Monday.
