Getting Better...

I realize it was only a few minutes but it was so nice to see the sun again.  Over the next few days expect a lot more of that.  We are still in the clutches of an unsettled airmass and this means that even though tomorrow morning will be sunny and beautiful the heating from the sun will bubble up cumulus clouds and some will tower into briefly soaking showers...not every town will see them.  The air aloft will be cold enough to support small hail within any shower that develops...nothing damaging just a few pings here and there.

The cold pool of air associated with the upper level trough will slide east of us for the weekend and surface high pressure will build in for the weekend along with some upper level ridging.  This means ample sunshine and warmer temperatures for both weekend days.  We are looking at temps between 75-80 on Saturday and in the mid 70s range on Mother's Day due to a few more clouds in the afternoon and the slight chance of a shower or thunderstorm.

Early next week, another slow-moving surface front will stall in the Northeast.  There looks like another solid southerly fetch providing significant moisture for more soaking periods of rain that will likely plague us through the middle of the week, further easing the drought.
