Furniture Truck Rolls Down Worcester Hill, Hits House
WORCESTER (CBS) – A runaway truck rolled down a hill in Worcester and slammed into a car and house Friday morning.
Worcester Police say a subcontractor of Bob's Discount Furniture was making a delivery on Shelby Street when the truck rolled backwards over its chock block.
A 27-year-old worker was on the back of the truck preparing to offload when it began to roll. The worker jumped off and sustained a broken hand.
The truck rolled down the hill and struck a parked car, a wall, a staircase and a porch.
An inspection revealed an inoperable parking brake.
Police are still investigating.
