Funeral For Weymouth Police Officer Michael Chesna To Be Held Friday

WEYMOUTH (CBS) – Funeral arrangements have been announced for Weymouth Police Officer Michael Chesna, who was shot and killed Sunday morning.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a wake at St. Mary's Church in Hanover on Thursday from 4-8 p.m.

A funeral mass at St. Mary's Church will be held Friday at 11 a.m.

Chesna will be buried in Blue Hill Cemetery in Braintree.

Police say 20-year-old Emanuel Lopes shot Chesna several times Sunday morning after hitting him in the head with a large rock. Lopes also shot and killed a 77-year-old woman, investigators said.

Chesna was 42 years old.  He is survived by his wife and two young children, ages 4 and 9. A memorial fund has been set up for the Chesna family.
