Environmental Police Officer Rescues Fawn On His Way To Work
BOSTON (CBS) -- A young fawn is recovering after it caught the attention of an environmental police officer who was on his way to work.
The officer was headed to a training seminar in New Bedford when he spotted a young fawn trying to nurse from its dead mother. The mother had apparently been hit by a car.
Massachusetts Division of Fisheries & Wildlife and Environmental Police captured the few week old fawn and took it to a wildlife rehabilitation clinic.
MassWildlife workers stayed in the area and were able to recover a second fawn, according to Environmental Police.
