Duxbury Firefighter Dies After 28-Year Career

BOSTON (CBS) --- The Duxbury Fire Department is mourning the loss of one of its own.

The department announced Sunday, the death of Firefighter John Thomas. Thomas was 56 years old and a 28-year veteran firefighter and EMT.

Duxbury Fire Captain Bob Riordan tells WBZ NewsRadio 1030, Thomas died of a "medical condition." The exact cause is being investigated, Riordan said.

Thomas was not on duty at the time and wasn't at the fire station.

No funeral announcements have been announced.
