Cannons Paul Rabil Named MLL Offensive Player of the Week

BOSTON (CBS) – For the second time this season, Boston Cannons midfielder Paul Rabil has been named the Major League Lacrosse Offensive Player of the Week.

Rabil scored three goals (including one from the two-point marker) and had three assists to lead the Cannons to a 15-12 come from behind win over the Denver Outlaws over the weekend. Down 7-3, Rabil scored two of his goals in the second half as the Cannons improved to 6-1 on the season to take over sole possession of first place in the MLL.

Rabil leads all scorers with 33 points this season and is tied for the league lead with 18 goals.

He also was named Offensive Player of the Week after Bostons 17-13 win over the Chesapeake Bayhawks, tallying three goals and two assists.

Rabil will compete in his fourth straight MLL All-Star Game this Saturday, July 9 at Harvard Stadium. He will look to follow-up his 111 mph shot at the halftime Skills Competition last year. Tickets for the Sports Authority MLL All-Star Game start at only $15 and are still available by calling the Cannons at 617-746-9933, or visiting BostonCannons.com.
