An American Airlines flight from New York to Brussels was diverted to Boston Sunday night after experiencing severe turbulence due to thunderstorms.

The turblence was so bad that even the pilot said it was the worst he had ever experienced.

Flight 172 landed safely at Logan Airport at around 10:40 p.m.

American Airlines spokesman Tim Smith says there are no reports of injuries among the 159 passengers and 9 crew members on board.

Many of the passengers spent the night at Terminal B on cots provided by Massport.
