Bruins-Lightning Changed To 7pm Start Due To Blizzard

BOSTON (CBS) - The Boston Bruins have pushed back their Saturday matchup with the Tampa Bay Lightning at the TD Garden hitting Boston.

Originally scheduled for a 1pm start on February 9, the Bruins and Lightning will now drop the puck at 7pm.

The Bruins left their Friday practice not knowing if the game would be at its original time or pushed back due to the snow. But for many of them, it won't be too hard to get to the Garden on Saturday despite the near two-feet of snow expected to coat the area.

"I'm pretty close thankfully," forward Milan Lucic said of his "30 second" commute. "I think everyone on the team lives in the city, which is pretty convenient for us. Even if I need to, I can throw the snow shoes on and get to the stadium."

"It should be a tough one from Charlestown," joked forward Shawn Thornton. "I have a truck so I should be alright."

"I don't think we needed to sell out the grocery stores of water and milk for a two-day storm, but that's just me," Thornton added. "Maybe it's just because I'm from Canada."

Both teams play in New York on Sunday -- the Bruins at Buffalo and Lightning at Madison Square Garden against the Rangers.
