Milkshakes are an indulgent treat to enjoy year round. Offered all around Boston, everywhere from fast-food burger joints to restaurants and bars, they pair perfectly with just about every food. The following spots offer the best milkshakes to go or to sip while sitting and staying a while at these locations.

Take a break from shopping in Downtown Crossing for a shake and a burger, without the guilt, at B. Good. Locations have been popping up of this fast-food restaurant in various neighborhoods, since it offers fresh, affordable food, with no surprises since you know where it came from, see who is making it and even can view all the nutritional information and ingredients of what is in it. Milkshakes come in two sizes, 16 or 24 ounces, with the choice of ice cream or non-fat frozen yogurt featured in them. The options include vanilla, chocolate, strawberry, chocolate malt or drunk Elvis and there are also fruits to have mixed in as well.

Jm Curley serves up burgers, macaroni and cheese, salads and other all-American-type meals. There are also plenty of beer and specialty cocktails to choose from. But a highlight is definitely the shakes or, as Jm Curley calls them, Concretes. For $7, the shake starts with vanilla ice cream and then mixes in creative combinations of toppings featured on a list of signature concretes. The Taste the Rainbow shake features Skittles, grape soda and rainbow Nerds while the Crunchy Hipster has white fudge pretzels, bacon, M&M's and Butterfinger. Adult shakes are just an additional $2 and are spiked with bourbon, rum and other liquors, like the Banana Split with creme de banana, salty roasted peanuts, strawberries and sprinkles.
