Special Plate Designed To Remove Grease From Food
BOSTON (CBS) – A new way to eat healthier might involve just switching your dishes – not your diet.
The AbsorbPlate has 500 little holes on the bottom that will suck out oil from food before you eat it. It's said to slash about 7 milliliters of grease, or 30 calories, from each meal.
It was designed by ad agency BBDO Bangkok and the Thai Health Promotion Foundation as a way to combat Thailand's obesity problem because of all the oil in Thai food.
The plate's makers said they took inspiration from the simple design of a sponge.
There's no word when the plate will be available for purchase.
