Six firefighters and nine residents were taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The blaze started shortly after 6:30 a.m. at a home on Linden Street in Allston.

Boston Fire Department spokesperson Steven MacDonald said the woman who died in the fire was in the attic of the home. "The firefighters would not have been able to get into the attic where the woman was," he said. "The fire, on arrival, was blowing out the window of the attic."

Firefighters had trouble reaching the attic due to heavy flames, WBZ NewsRadio 1030 reports.
