2 new Boston bishops ordained

Boston Cardinal Sean O'Malley is ordaining two new bishops.

The Rev. Arthur Kennedy and the Rev. Peter Uglietto will be elevated to auxiliary bishops for the Archdiocese of Boston during a ceremony at the cathedral of the Holy Cross in Boston on Tuesday.

The Vatican approved their elevation to bishop in June.

The 68-year-old Kennedy was previously rector of St. John's Seminary in Brighton, where he quadrupled the number of seminarians from 20 to 80. He was ordained in 1966.

Uglietto was president and rector of Pope John XXIII National Seminary in Weston. Ordained in 1977, the 58-year-old Uglietto will oversee the archdiocese's North Region.
