Woman Dead, Husband Hurt When Van Hits Motorcycle
HAGERSTOWN, Md. (AP) -- The Washington County Sheriff's Office says a woman was killed and her husband was hurt when the motorcycle they were on was hit by a van.
It happened shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday on Halfway Boulevard. Sheriff Douglas Mullendore tells the Herald-Mail of Hagerstown that a van driven by Charles Zulauf, 69, of Hagerstown hit the motorcycle and pushed it about 100 feet.
Mullendore says 58-year-old Terry Miller, who was operating the motorcycle, and his wife, 55-year-old Susan K. Miller, a passenger, were taken to a local hospital.
Mullendore said Susan Miller was pronounced dead and Terry Miller was in critical condition.
The accident is under investigation.
